Through The Waters

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. Isaiah 43:2a The journey of Ella and Lucy.

Lucy's surgery went well yesterday. We won't know for a couple of weeks if the surgery was successful in halting her eye disease but the surgeon was happy with the procedure itself. Unfortunately, Lucy needed to be intubated for the surgery. She really hates having a tube down her throat. She was able to have it taken out in the evening. Today, she will start to her feeding again. Everytime Lucy needs a procedure her feeding is stopped and it always takes a while to get back up to full feeds.

Ella has re-started her feeds as well. The first day she was on 3ml every three days and yesterday she was at 5ml. This will be a very slow process because of the infection and her bowel difficulties. She was off feeds for ten days and it will take a while to get everything going again.

Dear Theresa, Johnothan and girls,

Congrats on making it so far in your NICU journey! It is very touching to read about your girls progress and it brings back memories of our past year. The struggles are worth it! We are cheering for you all! Babies are such a wonderful way to start people.

Lots of love and luck!
