The doctors have figured out the cause of Lucy's infection this time and she is on the correct antibiotics. We hope to see improvement more quickly this time. She is started on feeds again and we hope to see her ventilation decrease. She is still on the Jet machine. Ella is on the high-flow oxygen again and is doing pretty well. She is now on 19mL of milk and digesting it all.
Lucy has figured out how to turn her head. Last night she moved her head from side to side four times in two hours. It is quite a task with her ventilation tube in her nose. Even when she is sick, she is feisty!
If you look on the corner of the isolette you can see Lucy's name. This is a fantastic isolette cover personalized for Lucy (and Ella) from the Francis family. They are beautiful!
Ella is wearing a hat knit by her Aunt Michelle - if you look closely you can see there is an "E" on the front. Lucy also has a special hat. When Michelle first made them it was hard to imagine the girls being big enough to fit into them but now they are a perfect fit!
This is a special premmie blanket made by Aunt Theresa. Both of the girls have their own personalized blanket. It is perfect for kangarooing!
