Through The Waters

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. Isaiah 43:2a The journey of Ella and Lucy.

Update on Ella As you can see in the picture - I was able to hold Ella yesterday! What an amazing experience! She has been doing so well since the surgery - one nurse even said - "Ella seems to enjoy surgery." Her oxygen levels have come down dramatically and she is now up to full feeds again. As she had had a good night and day, yesterday afternoon the nurses asked if I wanted to "kangeroo" with Ella. I didn't have to asked twice! "Kangerooing" is the term the staff use for skin to skin contact. I was stretched out on a lazyboy type chair and then they placed Ella on my chest. Both she and I loved it! She remained very stable for the two hours she lay there and they were even able to turn her oxygen down a bit. It was good for my soul - and I hope hers as well. Now we just need to get Lucy better so I can hold her!

This is a picture of Ella from last week in a hat that Dorothy made for her. She is just waking up with one eye peaking out. The hat is super tiny but still looks big on Ella!

Theresa you look so happy and perfectly 'mommy like'. I am so happy that you and Ella were bonding so perfectly together. I can't imagine having to wait so long...but so worth it!!!
The girls have both grown so much...I was surprised at how big Ella seemed against you.
We continue to pray for you all especially little Lucy. I am sure she'll join Ella in her ventures into the 'outside world' soon.
