Ella and Lucy are starting to notice one another. For a long time it was like they were in their own seperate worlds - the only baby in the house. Then they started to notice if Johnathon or I were with the other. Now, they will occasionally smile at one another. I can't wait until they start to really amuse one another.

Over the last couple of weeks the girls have changed a lot.

Ella

- She is laughing! Two weeks ago she laughed at Johnathon (of course!) and she still finds him hilarious. Last night she was more interested in laughing than sleeping. Once in a while she gets a real infectious belly laugh out. This is music to our ears!

- Ella also is starting to make more baby noises. She is very responsive to voices and wants to have "conversations."

- She has been sleeping through the night for over a month now. This makes a huge difference.

- Ella is really able to hold her head up and she loves to stand. She is grabbing on to toys and loves to put things in her mouth.

Lucy

- Lucy rolled over on Sunday! This was a big shock for all of us, including Lucy. Both Johnathon and I watched as she rolled from her stomach onto her back. It hasn't been repeated and might not be for some time but she will always be able to say to her sister that she rolled first.

- She is starting to get stronger at holding her head up. This is hard work for Lucy and we are working on exercises with her to increase her strength and endurance.

- Lucy is smiling a lot more now and likes to make little noises.

- For a little while Lucy was sleeping through the night but since she has had a cold she is now getting up at 4am again. Hopefully she will go back to sleeping through soon!

- The oxygen tank left the house for good last week. Hurrah!

Both girls normally nap in the morning and the afternoon but today they were not interested in sleeping at all. I put them in the stroller after lunch and they fell asleep right away. I kept walking to keep them asleep and I walked around Monkton twice! It was great to see so many of our neighbours.
