Through The Waters

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. Isaiah 43:2a The journey of Ella and Lucy.

This door represents a big change. On Saturday we moved from the NICU (Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit) to the NPCU (Neo-natal Progressive Care Unit). It is just around the corner from the NICU but it is miles from where we were three months ago. When babies are moved to the NPCU it is anticipated that the main issue will be feeding and growing. There is room for twelve babies in the unit and it is much more laid back and relaxed than the busy NICU. We are so glad to have finally made this move!

We keep working on feeding. In the night, the girls are given a bottle when they are awake and 'cueing' to be fed. Last night they took two complete bottles each. During the day, we work on nursing. Slowly, they are beginning to transfer some milk.

Lucy is beginning to get some cheeks like her sister. She still has very alert periods where she will stay awake for up to three hours at a time. She opens her eyes wide and takes in all the activity. She doesn't want to miss anything! Lucy has big brown eyes.

Lucy and Ella enjoying some time with Grandpa and Grandma Lee.

When Ella wakes up she wants to be held. We know this because she has started to use her voice. We are still surprised when we hear her cry! She is very content to be in someone's arms and often falls right back asleep.

HI Jonathon and Teresa, Lucy and Ella

It's Kristen - I like to see the pictures of the girls and watch how they grow. I can't wait to meet them in person and see you in Monkton.

It's Taylor - I like to see the pictures also. I like to see the clothing they wear.

It's Erin - I liked the teddy bear.

Talk to you all soon. It was great to see you on Sunday. Always in our prayers.
