Through The Waters

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. Isaiah 43:2a The journey of Ella and Lucy.

Still Here

Life is always busy in our family! We have now been up at camp for just over a month and everyone is having a lot of fun. We have had very good weather, which means the girls are outside a lot enjoying life with their babysitters. We are very lucky to have had three excellent babysitters this month and while some are moving unto other jobs now that it is June, another awesome babysitter will be joining us. The girls have been busy exploring, dancing, and going to the beach. They have even been in the cold waters of Lake Huron. A playground was donated to the camp last summer for the girls and they absolutely love it. Everyday they are out playing on it and Anna is definitely the bravest!

This is Ella's trike, but tomorrow we will be getting a trike adapted for Lucy. At the Thames Valley Children's Centre they take regular trike's and bike's and help adapt them for kids with different needs. Lucy is really excited about getting a bike and the adaptations will help her to be successful. We are also going to look at some wheelchairs tomorrow to start getting everything ready for school. Over the last two months, we have had a lot of meetings to get everything set up for Lucy in the fall. We are hoping she will have a full time EA to help her take part fully in all the opportunies at school.

This picture and one below are from a day we hosted at the Camp for the WMS women from Ripley and Ashfield. Johnathon did the catering and we had a wonderful (but cold) day eating down at Harmony House (the old Lodge).

Here is the playground that the girls love so much. The babysitters try to take the girls into town once a week or so to take part in a playgroup, but it is nice to have something right out our front door.
All the girls love to swing and they can do it for hours (it seems to those who are pushing them!).
Ella and Lucy both love to pretend these days - doctor, Dora, or Sleeping Beauty. But Ella's favourite is driving. She will sit in the car and pretend to drive for as long as we let her.
The pictures below are from a day the girls had with Shelagh - everyone had bows in their hair.
Ella continues to be a funny girl. She loves knick knacks and sorting things. She loves to store thing and collect things. She loves looking after her "babies". Ella's favourite things are still her blanky and her penguin. Ella enjoys reading and absolutely adores her daddy. She says lots of funny things.

Lucy is a happy girl. She is determined and talkative. She loves to sing and has lots of songs she has learned, including the ABCs, Waving Flag, and Twinkle Twinkle. She really likes dance parties in her walker and she is getting stronger all the time. She can pull herself up to stand quite quickly now. Lucy does get frustrated with her physical limitations but she keeps on going. Her favourite thing is Boots and she loves her Dora bed.

Anna is a fearless happy girl. She is a way braver than her sisters. She is talking quite a bit now and will repeat just about everything. Her favourite activity is going outside - and it doesn't matter where or what, just as long as she is outside. She loves to ride a "Horsie" (on my leg) and the staff all know the song as we play this so often. Anna loves her blankie and her soother (still!). She is a lot of fun!
