Through The Waters

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. Isaiah 43:2a The journey of Ella and Lucy.

We are still at St. Joe's. We anticipate going home to Monkton all together on Tuesday if all goes well. The girls are doing great and we are so encouraged by their progress.
Ella is now 9lbs14oz. We have tried several types of breastmilk/formula combinations this week. She is clearly still growing, but we want her to have safe, happy feeding as well as growth. She is still very difficult to feed and it takes a lot of concentration on all of our behalfs to ensure she succeeds. Ella has great facial expressions and we delight in her everyday.
Lucy is improving dramatically everyday. She is now 6lbs14oz. A week ago she was able to take all of her feeds by herself but it exhausted her and she would fall right asleep until she had to eat again. It took 30-40 minutes to finish one bottle. Now she wakes herself up for every feed and can finish her bottle in about 15 minutes. Lucy is also starting to really figure out breastfeeding. She now consistently takes about half of a feed through breastfeeding. We work on nursing twice a day. Lucy loves to snuggle and we are happy to oblige!

what a beautiful pair! I was comparing the first pictures of them from September, to the ones from today. How God answers prayers! they are both chubby and beautiful. You will all be in our prayers as you anticipate taking your sweethearts home- I'm sure it'll be nerve wracking but joyful at the same time.

We can hardly wait till your return in Monkton although we all realize that visits will be limited (especially to those of us unfortunate enough to have cold and flu bugs still hanging around!!!)
The girls are so gorgeous and so chunky!!! I can't believe that Ella weighs as much as Brycen did at about 6 weeks...and she's technically not over a month old yet. What a fabulous difference from September.
We wish you all the best a eagerly await your arrival back home!!
Hugs and Kisses from our boys to your girls!!!
Love The Tummers Gang
