Through The Waters

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you. Isaiah 43:2a The journey of Ella and Lucy.

We have had a busy week! Johnathon's sister Mary Ellen and her two sons Donovan and Malcolm were visiting from Halifax, so there was a housefull of kids and babies at Grandma and Grandpa Lees. Everyone had a lot of fun playing together. Anna is still a happy sunny baby. She now has two teeth on the bottom. She is starting to like her food a bit better, now that fruit has been introduced.Lucy loves her Grandma! She had a busy week of appointments. She had a hearing test, which was inconclusive. She is at a hard age for testing, as she is not interested in the test for younger children, but is not ready for the test for older children. So we will go back in three months for another test, and hopefully she will be able to do the test. The audiologist thinks something is not quite right with her hearing, so we will continue to follow this through.

The next day we met with the orthopaedic surgeon for an initial assessment for Lucy. He is quite happy with everything she is able to do and we are to continue doing her physiotherapy and letting her try things on her own. Lucy tried some little walkers, but she is not strong enough for them yet. We go back again in the summer.

We also met with a resource consultant from the County who will help us to co-ordinate services. They also help with the transition to school. The main thing we need help with right now is speech therapy as the speech pathologist at our local hospital is leaving and it may be several monts before there is a new one. Lucy is speaking at about an 18 month old stage, so we really want to get her the support she needs in this area.

Ella loved playing with her cousin Donovan. They got up to quite a bit of fun together. She is definitely a two year old!
Anna's little shirt says "What happens at Grandma's house, stays at Grandma's house." They had a lot of fun!
