A Quick Lucy Update

Lucy is a complete joy! She is our social butterfly who loves people and action. Daddy is her favourite person in the world. She continues to be determined. This summer she learned how to crawl - which was an awesome moment! She mainly uses her arms but is starting to get her legs underneath her. Lucy is starting to pull herself up to standing on the couch fairly regularly now. She is not really interested in bearing weight on her feet yet.


In the last couple of weeks Lucy has had a lot of appointments. When the girls turned two, the home visiting program for infants that they had been involved in switched to a program for kids between two and five. We still have a home visiting physiotherapist and occupational therapist and we go the local hospital for speech therapy. We recently learned that Lucy has a paralyzed vocal cord, which explains her very soft voice. It is a side effect of her heart surgery and there is nothing that can be done about it. It will just mean that she has a smaller breathier voice. Lucy loves to help with the dishes!
